Welcome to the second AAA installer. It has always been our intention to provide a simple way of installing the mods found on this site, and we thank you for your patience. Keeping with the unified installer 1.0, this installer contains only working finished products (no beta's) in a simple point and click installation.

While it was our intention the unified installer 1.0 was to be updated we have found some older mods do not adhere to the structure we currently have, we have decided to ensure a good clean installation for everyone. Moreover, having the ability to roll up all new aircraft and objects in one installation ensures compatibility with server side checkruntime=2 compatibility.

In the future, it is our intention that 1.1 will provide a reliable base by which we only release fixes or compatible add-on mods into the common structure.

As noted before, Version 1.1 enforces checkruntime and for those that want to enforce crt=2 for coops and online wars, may do so knowing everyone is using the same set of mods. Therefore, we strongly suggest to all users not add new mods or aircraft to this installation. If however you wish to add mods please make a separate copy of the game and add those items to the copied game.

AAA Community Mod Installer Version 1.1 contents:

Game Versions and Switcher:

This installer will provide Direct-2-Drive customers to update their game to be compatible with the DVD version and allow the mods to run.

The installer also provides a handy switcher that will be located in the 1946 game folder. The name of the switcher is 'Il2VersionSwitcher.exe' This small application will allow the user to switch to and from 4.08 and 4.09 as well as allowing for 6DOF is the user has a 6DOF capable trackIR version.

Included Mods:

AI Aircraft made flyable (These use cockpits & gun stations from the flyable aircraft)
The majority of these were produced by MrJolly & Additional work by Lt.Wolf

2. Once downloaded read below the installation warnings then read the installation instructions.

Installation Warnings:
1. If you are installing this package over a fresh installation of the IL-2 1946 DVD, you must first patch the game to 4.08m.
2. If you have IL-2 installed, Copy your current IL-2 1946 game folder and rename the new folder. Next, Delete the FILES and MODS folders. The new install will copy 4.08 files allowing any Direct 2 Drive user to be compatible with the mod.
3. If you have the unified installer 1.0, move the folder named FILES and MODS folder from your modded game to another location for safe keeping.

Installation Instructions:
1. Double left click the file 'AAA_Community_Installer_ver_1_1_part01.exe'
NOTE: You only need to run/install the first part (part01) as long as you keep all the files together you can ignore all the other parts
2. Once opened Left-Click on the Browse button and Select your IL-2 1946 4.08m game folder. Selecting OK and Left-Click the Install button.
3. When prompted to overwrite files select Yes to all

Switching Versions
Please use the version switcher included with the pack located within the root of your IL2 game folder Il2VersionSwitcher.exe to switch between different versions of the game. If for some reason you have problems opening the version switcher you can instead use the batch files also contained within the root of the IL2 game folder

MKII Gyro Gunsight or Standard Gunsight for Spitfire MK IX switcher

EAX (environmental audio) switcher

Should read:

To maintain optimal compatibility with the server and clients, EAX is Off by default. No additional sounds are available other than stock, or corrected sounds. It is up to the user to select the option for EAX in the game control panel.

Bomb bay doors mod
-------------------------------------------------------------------

For the following bombers you must set a new key to open the bomb bay doors
Mosquito Variants, B25 Variants, B29, B17 Variants, B24.
The function to set for the Bomb bay doors to open is function 'Power 10' within the controls
